We went up high at Mount Rainier National Park to escape the heat, but now it’s time to go low. 105 feet below the ground, to be exact. Mammoth Cave National Park is home to over 400 miles of cool, dark passageways, perfect for escaping the hot Kentucky sun.

What was once used as a burial ground and tuberculosis hospital is now a creepy Kentucky cave at Mammoth Cave National Park where people have reported hearing coughing. others say they have seen the ghost of cave guide and slave Stephen Bishop, who was buried nearby.

I did the Domes and Dripstones tour but will try one of the lantern ones next time (recommended by a ranger).
